Testimonials

“Adam Folts was an absolute Rock Star for us. We had TWO solar guys before him who charged us a lot of money for labor and components… NONE of which charged a single percent of battery power. Found Adam through positive reviews on a Quartzsite, AZ page we followed so we just packed up and went to Arizona. Adam promised nothing he didn’t deliver! We are currently boondocking with no hookups and our solar system is on point!!!! CALL THIS MAN!!”

- Michael Mustoe, March 2026

“We consulted with Adam/Solar Ark to help us with our solar design/setup for our ambulance camper and plan to have him assist us in our build. We are super impressed with Adam’s knowledge and understanding of how to best utilize what we have already bought to start our build. He gave us tips on what we need to add to utilize our space and give us maximum power to keep our rig charged up. He’s passionate, articulate, super knowledgeable, honest, and reasonable in his pricing on all his services. You won’t go wrong having Adam/Solar Ark to partner with, or to do your entire solar build. He’s one of the best in this business!”

- Iain and Sandi Mitchell, March 2026

“I thought you were very knowledgeable and thorough!”

- Amy Lewis, Jan 2026

“Working with Adam Folts of Solar Ark Electrical through his mentorship and consulting program has been incredibly valuable. He helped me understand where my electrical system could be improved, not just for performance but for overall safety and long-term reliability. Adam breaks down complex electrical concepts in a way that’s practical and easy to apply, which gave me real confidence in upgrading my setup correctly. His guidance has been insightful, thorough, and genuinely focused on doing things the right way.”

- Diana April, Bunny and Beyond, Jan 2026

“Best wishes in your business. People may not like to hear what you have to say at times, but you can’t be faulted for honesty.”

- Hoyt Butler AKA Carl, Dec 2025

“I live in Oregon but arranged to meet Adam in Quartzsite, AZ to install a DC-DC charger in my truck camper while on my winter getaway. He was extremely professional from our first contact and he thoroughly assessed my current setup and future needs via email, phone calls and photos. After agreeing on the scope of services we arranged a time to meet and Adam arrived right on time at my campsite, with Chloe, to get to work. His attention to detail, expertise and thoughtful explanations made the whole process not only productive but enjoyable. And, the DC-DC charger works perfectly and keeps my camper batteries charged while I am driving. Adam is a trained engineer, a seriously nice guy and a Marine Corps veteran. There is no reason to look anywhere else.”

Frequently Asked Questions

  • TL:DR; Our hyper-niche work is exempt from licensure and insurance requirements in most localities. Being “degreed and warrantied” guarantees our quality and expertise in our fully-legal mobile electrical services.

Solar Ark is a fully-mobile solar installer for vans and RVs. That means we aren’t tied to a brick-and-mortar facility, nor are the systems we install. This places us in a unique, hyper-niche role that is mostly unregulated in many localities.

We are constantly researching the rules and regulations in our service locations to ensure your safety and our legality. Here is what we have found.

    Electrical Licensure:

    • In most states, RV/mobile solar installations and DC wiring below 50VDC does not require electrical or contracting licensure.

    • 120VAC wiring is more strict even in RVs, especially for hardwiring inverters to receptacles or shore power. So while we cannot perform those final connections, we can perform prewiring, diagnostics, and minor repairs, and may guide clients through performing such connections for themselves.

    Business Licensure:

    • We may execute one-off jobs in most localities as we are passing through without a local business license. This is a big benefit of having a fully-mobile workspace.

    • Repeat business in a particular locality (such as Moab, UT) will eventually trigger requirements for business licensure. The exact trigger varies on locality but generally involves a set amount of revenue, quantity of large projects, and/or presence and visibility in the area. This is why we do pursue business licensure in our primary service areas, to include Moab.

    Insurance:

    • Unless explicitly required for a business license, insurance is not mandatory for this line of work.

    • We do carry a general liability policy to protect ourselves and our clients.

Overall, licensure and insurance are not required for the bulk of our mobile work. As such, we want to stand out from the competition by guaranteeing our expertise and quality in a smarter way.

Solar Ark is Degreed and Warrantied

With a Bachelors degree in Power Systems engineering, we understand these systems deeper than any electrically-licensed tech. They follow manuals - we create manuals. So when we design and install solar power systems for RVs and vans, you can rest assured that our focus is on safety, quality, and efficiency.

Our work is insured, but we don’t want to waste your time with courtroom headaches. Instead, we provide a 1-year warranty for all labor and workmanship performed - because we always stand behind our work.

We don’t need an electrical license or third-party inspector to guarantee our quality and expertise. Instead, we use only the best tools like hydraulic crimpers, thermal imaging cameras, and Fluke multimeters to guarantee the safety of our installations. Because if there’s one thing we learned from the competition, its that electricity doesn’t forgive their ego or their mistakes. So we choose to stay humble and always seek to learn more.

    • Finally, answer any further questions we may have for you. We will build an initial estimate with the scope of work in preparation for design and installation.

Its that easy! Let us do the hard parts for you.

  • A: We accept conventional payment methods such as cash, credit and debit, bank transfer, and (for payments less than $1000) traditional checks. For payments over $1000, a cashier’s check or money order is accepted.

Zelle, Cash App, Apple Pay, and other payment apps are not accepted.

Have gold or silver? See our terms and conditions - we may accept these as forms of payment.

We do not offer financing at this time.

  • A: If there’s a will, there’s a way. There are many unique rigs out there, whether it be a custom teardrop trailer, Volkswagen bus, school bus, ambulance, motorcycle trailer, or even a sailboat. But just because nobody has done it before, doesn’t mean it can’t be done right. There are many tools and products on the market to make solar a reality for you, whether it be a rigid panel mounted on crossbars, a flexible panel for those curved roofs, or even a fold-up panel and power station for when a permanent install just doesn’t make sense. It’s never about whether it can be done. Its about the willpower to create an effective, quality design regardless of the obstacles in place. And we’ll be sure to help you understand the pros and cons of each option, so that you are confident in your new electrical system.

  • A: Trust me, you’re not alone. These technical specifications can be daunting to understand, especially when you don’t deal with them often. Lucky for you, we have articles, workshops, and a forum to teach newbies and experts alike how to understand these technologies. You don’t need an electrical engineering degree to understand this stuff. You just need a foundation in the basics, and maybe some multiplication skills, to understand and appreciate your electrical system(s). Leave the complex numbers and converter theory to us - unless you have a strange obsession with electricity like myself. So go check out our resources, and let the beauty of solar power be yours to see.
