Testimonials
“Adam Folts was an absolute Rock Star for us. We had TWO solar guys before him who charged us a lot of money for labor and components… NONE of which charged a single percent of battery power. Found Adam through positive reviews on a Quartzsite, AZ page we followed so we just packed up and went to Arizona. Adam promised nothing he didn’t deliver! We are currently boondocking with no hookups and our solar system is on point!!!! CALL THIS MAN!!”
- Michael Mustoe, March 2026
“We consulted with Adam/Solar Ark to help us with our solar design/setup for our ambulance camper and plan to have him assist us in our build. We are super impressed with Adam’s knowledge and understanding of how to best utilize what we have already bought to start our build. He gave us tips on what we need to add to utilize our space and give us maximum power to keep our rig charged up. He’s passionate, articulate, super knowledgeable, honest, and reasonable in his pricing on all his services. You won’t go wrong having Adam/Solar Ark to partner with, or to do your entire solar build. He’s one of the best in this business!”
- Iain and Sandi Mitchell, March 2026
“I thought you were very knowledgeable and thorough!”
- Amy Lewis, Jan 2026
“Working with Adam Folts of Solar Ark Electrical through his mentorship and consulting program has been incredibly valuable. He helped me understand where my electrical system could be improved, not just for performance but for overall safety and long-term reliability. Adam breaks down complex electrical concepts in a way that’s practical and easy to apply, which gave me real confidence in upgrading my setup correctly. His guidance has been insightful, thorough, and genuinely focused on doing things the right way.”
- Diana April, Bunny and Beyond, Jan 2026
“Best wishes in your business. People may not like to hear what you have to say at times, but you can’t be faulted for honesty.”
- Hoyt Butler AKA Carl, Dec 2025
“I live in Oregon but arranged to meet Adam in Quartzsite, AZ to install a DC-DC charger in my truck camper while on my winter getaway. He was extremely professional from our first contact and he thoroughly assessed my current setup and future needs via email, phone calls and photos. After agreeing on the scope of services we arranged a time to meet and Adam arrived right on time at my campsite, with Chloe, to get to work. His attention to detail, expertise and thoughtful explanations made the whole process not only productive but enjoyable. And, the DC-DC charger works perfectly and keeps my camper batteries charged while I am driving. Adam is a trained engineer, a seriously nice guy and a Marine Corps veteran. There is no reason to look anywhere else.”

Adaptability - We’ll Always Find The Way
Adaptability isn’t just one of our core values - its how we thrive in the wild. As a nomadic business, we’re always anticipating the challenges of changing weather, rough terrain, or even broken gear. We know life and nature can be a bit unpredictable, so we’re always willing to work with you to get to the finish line.
On the other hand, we are not invincible! We have to set some flexible boundaries to keep ourselves healthy and safe, so that we can keep providing our quality services for years to come. Read our operating conditions below to see how we roll.
Our Operating Conditions
Nomadic by nature, strategic by design.
Our services cover the west side of the US, Including the PNW, Southwest, and Rocky Mountains.
Safety and effectiveness drive our work, which means we avoid dangerous conditions like Montana’s winter deep-freeze or Arizona’s scorching summer heat. Our general operating conditions for on-site work ensure we can deliver quality without compromising safety or sanity.
Virtual consultation and design work are always available, regardless of season or location.
Installations outside these conditions? We’ll consider them case-by-case, just ask!

We’re all about safety, comfort, and quality - for you and us. Here’s what we need to do our best work:
Temperature Limits:
We thrive in 60°F to 75°F weather, but hit our limits at 32°F and 90°F. Working outside these ranges isn’t just uncomfortable - it’s unsafe. If Mother Nature doesn’t cooperate, we’ll reschedule (or wait it out with a siesta) to keep everyone happy and healthy.
Weather Conditions:
We don’t work in rain, thunderstorms, hail, snow, or excessive wind. A little mist won’t hurt, but a bit of rust will later on. We’re tough, but we’re not storm chasers. Safety first, always.
Location:
The service location must be safe and legal for us to work. No Walmart parking lots, please! But a dispersed camping area? Now we’re talking. Wherever the install site may be, we’ll need to confirm access, parking, overnight lodging, and any site-specific hazards beforehand. If conditions change for the worse, we may need to delay or reschedule - your safety and ours is non-negotiable.

A: If there’s a will, there’s a way. There are many unique rigs out there, whether it be a custom teardrop trailer, Volkswagen bus, school bus, ambulance, motorcycle trailer, or even a sailboat. But just because nobody has done it before, doesn’t mean it can’t be done right. There are many tools and products on the market to make solar a reality for you, whether it be a rigid panel mounted on crossbars, a flexible panel for those curved roofs, or even a fold-up panel and power station for when a permanent install just doesn’t make sense. It’s never about whether it can be done. Its about the willpower to create an effective, quality design regardless of the obstacles in place. And we’ll be sure to help you understand the pros and cons of each option, so that you are confident in your new electrical system.
-
A: Trust me, you’re not alone. These technical specifications can be daunting to understand, especially when you don’t deal with them often. Lucky for you, we [will] have articles, resources, and even a blog (All Coming Soon!) to teach newbies and experts alike how to understand these technologies. You don’t need an electrical engineering degree to understand this stuff. You just need a foundation in the basics, and maybe some multiplication skills, to understand and appreciate your electrical system(s). Leave the complex numbers and converter theory to us - unless you have a strange obsession with electricity like myself. So go check out our resources, and let the beauty of solar power be yours to see.

For off-grid solar and DC electrical work, including battery systems, solar arrays, and low-voltage wiring, licensure isn’t required by law. However, that doesn’t mean just anyone should do it. Unlike general contractors or even licensed electricians, we specialize exclusively in off-grid power systems, bringing a level of expertise that goes far beyond basic wiring.
With a degree in Power Systems Engineering, hands-on experience in residential wiring, and always successful mobile solar projects under our belt, we’re not just qualified - we’re specialized. Our focus is on designing, installing, and repairing systems that are reliable, efficient, and tailored to your lifestyle. Our designs are not just code-compliant - they are foolproof and warrantied.
For the few cases where permanent 120VAC wiring is involved, we partner with licensed electricians to ensure full compliance, so that you get the best of both worlds - our solar expertise and their licensing where it actually matters.
Currently we’re in the process of insuring this registered LLC, so that we are both protected every step of the way. Our priority is building systems that work for your needs, backed by the knowledge and experience to do it right the first time.
Sovereignty - The Path to True Freedom
Sovereignty is why we do this. Whether you’re in a van, a skoolie, or any other mobile rig, our systems are designed to give you energy independence - so you can live life on your terms.
